Is there an admission charge?

Yes, Cash or Check, only. 

We are a non-profit, agro-tourism attraction.  All monies are donated to land preservation, in Virginia.  Please see our types of tours and prices under ''Tours''.

 

Do you have Kid's Activities?

Yes. 

Depending on the age level and number of kids, we can offer various activities.

 

*  During your Garden Tour, we offer "Scavenger Hunt", "Team Hunt", "Fill the Basket"

"What's Under the Magnifying Glass?" and "I Spy" activities ~ all to discover interesting insects, birds, frogs, flowers.

 

*  Before or after your Garden Tour, we also offer "Make n' Take" activities, such as:  Planting Veggie/Flower Seeds; Identification Journal; Bird Seed Balls; Native Bee House, or Egg Carton Treasure Box.

 

*  Prearrangements must be made for any of our Kid's Activities. 

*  There will be a charge of $10-15, each, for supplies for the "Make n' Take" activities.

 

May I bring my dog?    

IF your dog will not run through the garden, chase the birds, dive in the ponds, and you clean up any droppings...yes, you may bring your dog; leashed.

 

We have a fenced-in dog park if you would like to have a picnic with your dog in our unleashed area.  Not chasing birds and cleaning up after still applies in this area.

 

May I take photographs?  Sit and paint?  

Or may I use the gardens as a backdrop for photos?

Yes, yes, and yes, as long as you give published credit to  ''Birdsong Pleasure Garden''.

 

Is the Garden Accessible?  

The gardens may present challenges to visitors with special mobility needs.

Small motorized wheelchairs work very well on all our pathways.

Small strollers work very well on most paths.

Please contact us if you have questions, or you would like to book the golf cart.

 

May I just wander around on my own?

No, only on Open House or Event Days.

We would prefer to accompany you througout the gardens as this is our home and

these aur private gardens.   Tours.

 

Is this a Proposal, " First Look" or Wedding and Vow Renewal Venue?

Yes.  We have had thrilling, teary and surprise proposals.

Yes.  We have had joyous "First Look" photography session.

Yes.  We have had a marriage portion of the wedding, but not the reception.

Yes.  We have had vow renewal celebrations.

Is there a Volunteer Group?

Yes. 

Presently, there are two full time gardeners.  Volunteers are welcomed.  As a volunteer, you will be assigned and learn about the plants, maintenance, etc. that is needed for that particular season.   

 

Volunteer Garden Hours can be used to pay for workshops or class fees.

 

Is there Free Parking or Parking for Large Events?

 Yes. 

Parking is free and next to the Garden.  Handicapped Parking is also next to the Garden. 

 

Is there Wi-Fi access? 

No. 

There is no Wi-Fi access.

 

Is smoking or vaping allowed in the Gardens?   

No. 

We are a smoke, and vape free environment.  Guests may not smoke or vape in the parking areas or anywhere else on our properties.

 

Are there any warnings concerning this agri-tourism site?

 

                           From Code of Virginia,     § 3.2-6402. Notice:

       "WARNING" or "ATTENTION" followed by "Under Virginia law, there is no

liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted

at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks

of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act
