Depending on the age level and number of kids, gardening activities include.
"Scavenger Hunt", "Team Hunt", "Fill the Basket", "What's Under the Magnifying Glass?", and "I Spy" activities ~ all to discover interesting insects, birds, frogs, flowers.
"Make n' Take" activities, such as: Planting Veggie/Flower Seeds; Identification Journal; Bird Seed Balls; Native Bee House, or Egg Carton Treasure Box.
May I bring my dog ?
IF your dog will not run through the garden, chase the birds, dive in the ponds, and if you clean up any droppings...yes, you may bring your dog; leashed.
We have a fenced-in dog park if you would like to allow your dog in our unleashed area. Not chasing birds and cleaning up after still applies in this area.
May I take photographs? Sit and paint?
Or may I use the gardens as a backdrop for photos?
Yes, our Gardening Friends are always welcome, as long as you give published credit to ''Birdsong Pleasure Garden''.
Is the Garden Accessible?
Small motorized wheelchairs work very well on all our pathways.
Small strollers work very well on most paths.
Is there a Volunteer Group?
Presently, there are two full time gardeners.
Volunteers are welcomed. As a volunteer, you will be assigned and learn about the plants, maintenance, etc. that is needed for that particular season.
Is there Free Parking or Parking for Special Events?
Parking is always free.
Is there Wi-Fi access?
No, there is no Wi-Fi access.
Is smoking, tobacco spitting, or vaping allowed in the Gardens?
No.
We are a smoke, and vape free environment. Visitors may not smoke, tobacco spit, or vape in the parking areas or anywhere else on our properties.
Are there any warnings concerning this agri-tourism site?
From Code of Virginia, § 3.2-6402. Notice:
